Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead My rating: 3 of 5 stars Over 11 years have passed since I read this book the first time. On re-read, I still enjoyed this book and my rating has not changed. Slashing Through the Snow by Jacqueline Frost My rating: 3 of 5 stars More like a 2.5 For me, this was my least favorite of the 3 installments. Some things were too predictable and for some reason our main character seemed very childish, almost like she was throwing a tantrum every time she was told to stop snooping. I did listen to the audiobook as I had the previous installments, but I don't remember her being as irritating in those. Not sure if it was just the narration or if the character comes across the same in the text, but it definitely hindered my enjoyment of this installment. I was so looking forward to this installment, especially since there was such a long break between the second and third book, but unfortunately this one was just ok for me. View all my reviews

Parasyte, Volume 8 by Hitoshi Iwaaki My rating: 3 of 5 stars I'm a little disappointed at how this story ended. The last 2 volumes definitely didn't give me the same enjoyment I had with the previous installments. To me, this ending focused a lot more on what I feel are the mangaka's feelings on overpopulation and the damage humans are doing to the planet. I was also not convinced by the romantic relationship in this story. All in all, I'm glad I read this series and was surprised to have enjoyed it as much as I did earlier in the series, but the story ended on a less enjoyable note than I would've liked. My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix My rating: 3 of 5 stars I probably should not have read this one as my first by this author. I should've known better and just skipped it actually because exorcism is a religious practice and religion is not something I enjoy reading about. The beginning started out great, the ending section was good, but it was the middle section that I just didn't enjoy. I am still looking forward to exploring more of this author's work, but this one was just okay for me. View all my reviews

Hell House by Richard Matheson My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book started out so promising, but it ended up being a bit disappointing for me. It just got overly sexual, not explicitly but there were several sexual situations. While I understand why it went in that direction, it is not something I enjoyed especially being from the male perspective. In the end, this one just didn't hit the mark for me. View all my reviews

Paradise Club by Tim Meyer My rating: 3 of 5 stars I enjoyed this one, but once we find out the reason for the bloodbath, things went downhill for me. That kind of made things weird and definitely wasn't what I expected. Up until that point though, this read was exactly what I expected. I've already got two other books by this author on my to read list, so I'm looking forward to reading more of his work. This one just turned out to be not what I expected in the end. It's time to tell you about everything I read in September! This is my September Wrap Up or Book & Manga Reading Log, whichever you prefer ^-^ I did this a little differently this month and recorded my wrap ups throughout the month, which I think worked out well for me, as I was able to get this out earlier than I normally would have. I had a pretty good reading month with 17 things and I competed both my Rotating Decks TBR as well as the Fullmetal Challenge prompts! The Lost Mind by Christopher Pike My rating: 3 of 5 stars Read for the third round of the Booktube Spin. This one ended up being not for me. It held my attention enough for me to finish the book, but what this story ended up being about is just a subject I am not interested in. The epilogue was probably the best part of this book for me. This definitely won't be one that I will be re-reading, but I'm glad I did read this one as it was one that I had not visited when I was growing up. View all my reviews

Rescuing Titanic: A true story of quiet bravery in the North Atlantic by Flora Delargy My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this. I don't read a lot of children's books but the topic of this one really caught my attention. I have watched a lot of documentaries on Titanic, but I've never watched anything from the perspective of the Carpathia, who came to rescue the survivors of the sinking. This book provides that perspective. The story is told in a way that is easy enough for children to understand, but still interesting enough for an adult to read. I loved the illustrations and the art style and am really looking forward to more of what the Hidden Histories series has to offer in the future. I did receive an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher through Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review. This in no way affects my thoughts on this book, just so you know. View all my reviews

I had originally intended this to be a vlog style wrap up video, but it ended up being more like Friday Reads videos, where I check in with you once a week and let you know how I'm getting along with my reads.
