Disis19 Diaries: May 21-27 | 2023 - May Wrap Up 2, Working on an Older Knit, and a Small Yarn Haul

Image
Welcome to my May reading and crafting vlog! I've decided to rename these Disis19 Diaries, because that's what these videos really are - diary entries as opposed to following me around while I do things. This vlog will encompass my reads during the month and a few knits. I also have a small yarn haul to share in this one. ~Mentions~ Ladies on Top Vol 2 by Nijiganameta Bleach 3-in1 Edition Vol 14 by Tite Kubo Villains Are Destined to Die Vol 2 by SUOL, Gwon Gyoeul Yakuza Fiance Vol 1 by Asuka Konishi

Books: Hide (Detective Harriet Foster Thriller 1)

Image
Hide by Tracy Clark My rating: 4 of 5 stars Very interesting mystery. Really enjoyed how the author worked in all the possible suspects. The end left me questioning something but I'm wondering if the author will bring that up in a future installment? Looking forward to reading the next in the series. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Vacancy

Image
Vacancy by K.R. Alexander My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was very entertaining. Drew me in pretty quickly. I think this will have a good level of creep factor for the target age and it had a nice twist towards the end. Looking forward to reading more of this author's work. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Dreamfever (Fever 4)

Image
Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning My rating: 3 of 5 stars When I did pick this up, it read fast for me. The story just didn't draw me in and I was able to put this one down for a few days at a time. This installment ends on a cliffhanger again but since I am participating in a read along for this, I won't have to wait long to find out how that scene plays out. I'm looking forward to seeing how this series closes out but I'm managing my expectations. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Reflection

Image
Reflection by Elizabeth Lim My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 This was my first of the Twisted Tales. It was definitely interesting and I'm glad I read it, but it was missing something for me. I listened to the audiobook and maybe that did a disservice to my experience with the story as well. Everything just felt so slow and even though the narration was very calming to listen to, I think that hindered the story from drawing me in. I'll definitely need to try to read this again sometime and see if not listening to the audio will change my experience with this book. Thanks to my friend Amy from AStar Reads from gifting me a copy of this book for Christmas last year! View all my reviews
