Manga Finished Series: My Thoughts on Can't Stop Cursing You, Vol. 4

Image
Can't Stop Cursing You, Vol. 4 by Natsuko Uruma My rating: 4 of 5 stars This series had so much potential to have more volumes, it's sad that it ended so quickly. I really enjoyed this series overall, however I will say that the very end of this volume wasn't satisfying for me. Will definitely be looking into more of this mangaka's work in the future. Finished Series: Key of Valor (Key Trilogy 3)

Image
Key of Valor by Nora Roberts My rating: 4 of 5 stars On a whole, I really enjoyed this series. I connected more to the characters in the second and third installments more than the first, but I enjoyed all three installments. Even though you know how things will ultimately end, I still enjoyed the journey and will definitely need to explore more of this author's trilogies. View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder (Ghost Hunter Mysteries 10)

Image
A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder by Victoria Laurie My rating: 5 of 5 stars Just as good on re-read as I remember it being. This series is still one of my favorite series. I listened to the audiobook this time around and while it took me a bit to get used to the voices of our characters at the beginning of the series, I really warmed up to the narration and I ended up being very entertained. While I thought this was then end when I read this the first time, it turns out the author has another one in the works which will hopefully be out shortly. I've really missed our cast of characters and am looking forward to revisiting them in the newest installment. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on The Fear Zone 2

Image
The Fear Zone 2 by K.R. Alexander My rating: 3 of 5 stars I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but it was pretty close. There was a lot of discourse between our group, but I did enjoy how the situation affected a wider group of people. I have enjoyed all the books I've read by this author so far and though I will probably not read this one again, I'm looking forward to other books they have written. View all my reviews

Finished Series: If Witch, Then Which?, Vol. 3

Image
If Witch, Then Which?, Vol. 3 by Ato Sakurai My rating: 4 of 5 stars Cute series. Definitely had a few situations and a character that reminded me of The Worst Witch movie, which is one of my favorites. Loved the art style and thought this was an entertaining read. View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on Ghostly Things, Vol. 3

Image
Ghostly Things, Vol. 3 by Ushio Shirotori My rating: 3 of 5 stars With this being the final volume, I do feel this was an unsatisfying end to the series. We don't get all the answers to the mysteries and even the answers we do get are not complete. There were too many things revealed for a series this short and it feels like the mangaka didn't have as many volumes as they thought they would've? This probably could've been at least a 10 volume series with all the mysteries that arose throughout the story. I really enjoyed the art style and I do feel like our main character will continue to search for answers, however as a reader, we won't see that. I hate when I'm left with a lot of questions at the end of the story and I definitely feel that with this series. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Cherish (Crave 6)

Image
Cherish by Tracy Wolff My rating: 4 of 5 stars I've read and enjoyed most of this series this year and I am sorry that it's over, but the end to this series was missing a few things for me. Still an enjoyable and entertaining read but I wish we had just a little bit more with these characters. Maybe the spin off series will give me a few glimpses of where these characters are in the future. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Fence: Disarmed (Fence Novels 2)

Image
Disarmed by Sarah Rees Brennan My rating: 4 of 5 stars I'm glad this ended the way I was hoping. There was almost too much drama for me though. The way that the chapters were situated really helped me get through this book because we were constantly changing perspectives. I also enjoyed that there was some fencing in this one, which I felt was missing from the first book. I'm really looking forward to reading the comics! View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on Devils' Line Volume 14 by Ryo Hanada

Image
Devils' Line, Vol. 14 by Ryo Hanada My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 - Whole series rating is also a 3.5 This series ended up not being what I thought it was going to be and that is what lead to my disappointment. This is a series about relationships, which is not my usual cup of tea. That being said, it was an entertaining read. We follow so many characters throughout this story that it felt more like we were having singular episodes with them instead of the series being a continuous story. A character I thought was going to be focused on more, ended up not being as important to the story as I thought they were going to be. Certain things were presented in a way that was confusing to me and I don't know if it was presented that way in order to keep the reader surprised with the reveal or if it was just the way I interpreted things. Even though I was disappointed this time around, I do want to re-try this series sometime in the future. I think going into this series t...

Finished Series: My Thoughts on The Fourth Closet (Five Nights at Freddy's 3)

Image
The Fourth Closet by Scott Cawthon My rating: 5 of 5 stars Probably more like a 4.5 This was my favorite installment of the trilogy. So much happened and the pacing was much faster. I almost feel like I need to re-read it immediately because things haven't yet settled in my mind yet. I listened to the entire trilogy from audiobook, so I think my next read through will be physically. The audiobooks were very entertaining, though Charlie's voice irritated me. Definitely looking forward to the other books in this franchise. View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on BL Metamorphosis, Vol. 5

Image
Bl Metamorphosis, Vol. 5 by Kaori Tsurutani My rating: 5 of 5 stars Really loved this series! Such a nice, wholesome story. I enjoyed how we followed the BL manga that our characters bonded over through the course of this story as well. I'm so glad that I finally read this series. View all my reviews

Finished Series: Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 6

Image
Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 6 by Tsugumi Ohba My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 The further I got into this series, the more tiresome it became for me. I think this would've worked much better for me if it was from one character's point of view. The panels became so cluttered with text towards the end, that you couldn't appreciate the illustrations. I am glad I have finally read through this series though. View all my reviews

Books: The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians 5)

Image
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan My rating: 5 of 5 stars Really enjoyed my re-read of this series! This installment definitely felt like it moved quickly, though it could also be because there's a lot happening. I didn't remember most of what happened in this one, but there were pieces here and there that I did. This will definitely be a series I will re-read again. View all my reviews

Finished Series: Millennium Snow, Vol. 4

Image
Millennium Snow, Vol. 4 by Bisco Hatori My rating: 4 of 5 stars I would say this is more like a 3.5 for me, but I'm glad that I've finally read this series. It was definitely interesting for me to see what the mangaka had to say in the sidebars in regards to her thoughts on the characters and the struggles with continuing the series after a 10 year break. It does make you wonder if the story would've gone the same way if it was written continuously instead of with the long break in between. Overall, I did still enjoy this series and am looking forward to reading more of this mangaka's work in the future. View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on Allegiant (Divergent #3)

Image
Allegiant by Veronica Roth My rating: 3 of 5 stars More like a 2.5 I had avoided this book for 7 years, but my TBR Game decided it was time for me to finish this series. I wasn't wrong in something I thought would happen at the end of this book. Being away from the series for so long didn't help the situation either as I do feel this installment relies a lot on how the reader feels about the couple. I did not feel connected to them throughout the series and much of the romance didn't help this installment for me. Am I glad I finally finished this series? Yes. Could I have gone the rest of my life not knowing how this series ended? Unfortunately, also yes. View all my reviews

Finished Series: My Thoughts on Danganronpa 2: Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair Volume 3

Image
Danganronpa 2: Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair Volume 3 by Kyousuke Suga My rating: 4 of 5 stars While I enjoyed seeing the story from Nagito's perspective, there is a large chunk of the story missing in this final volume. That was so disappointing to me and also made this volume feel very rushed. That being said, Nagito is an interesting character and I'm glad to have this in my collection. View all my reviews

Finished Series: A School Frozen in Time, Volume 4

Image
A School Frozen in Time, volume 4 by Naoshi Arakawa My rating: 4 of 5 stars Really enjoyed this series. I did figure out the mystery before it was revealed but this story provided some additional twists and turns which I appreciated. The art style was a little difficult for me though as there were times where I wasn't sure who was who. I am glad that I read the entire series in one sitting as I feel that if I had read them as they were released, I would've missed some of the details. View all my reviews

Manga: My Thoughts on Parasyte, Volume 8

Image
Parasyte, Volume 8 by Hitoshi Iwaaki My rating: 3 of 5 stars I'm a little disappointed at how this story ended. The last 2 volumes definitely didn't give me the same enjoyment I had with the previous installments. To me, this ending focused a lot more on what I feel are the mangaka's feelings on overpopulation and the damage humans are doing to the planet. I was also not convinced by the romantic relationship in this story. All in all, I'm glad I read this series and was surprised to have enjoyed it as much as I did earlier in the series, but the story ended on a less enjoyable note than I would've liked. Series Thoughts | Waiting for Spring

My thoughts on the manga series Waiting for Spring by Anashin.

Finished Series: The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy #3)

Image
The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness My rating: 3 of 5 stars Probably more like a 2.5 It's been 9 years since I read Shadow of Night. It was about time I got to this one. While it started out promising, the story kind of dragged for me. The story didn't pick up until about the last 20% of the book. That last part held my interest and I didn't want to put the book down when I got to that point. The first 80% though was tough to get through for me. Am I interested in reading the next one - yes. Will it take me another 9 years to finally pick that one up? I'm not sure. I definitely have questions about these character's futures, but I'm not sure if that book will provide those answers. In any case, I'm glad I finally completed this trilogy even if I ended up thinking it was just ok. View all my reviews
