Monochrome Manga Club First Impressions | Can't Stop Cursing You & Love and Heart

Image
It's Manga Monday! Today I'm sharing my first impressions of Can't Stop Cursing You & Love and Heart. These were the February selections for my in real life manga club. I thought I'd have a dedicated video to these selections in case anyone wanted to read and talk about the selections with me here. I also announce the March selections, in case you want to read those and talk with me about them. Let me know your thoughts on these volumes in the comments below, but please no spoilers past volume 1 ^-^

Finished Series: A School Frozen in Time, Volume 4

Image
A School Frozen in Time, volume 4 by Naoshi Arakawa My rating: 4 of 5 stars Really enjoyed this series. I did figure out the mystery before it was revealed but this story provided some additional twists and turns which I appreciated. The art style was a little difficult for me though as there were times where I wasn't sure who was who. I am glad that I read the entire series in one sitting as I feel that if I had read them as they were released, I would've missed some of the details. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2)

Image
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan My rating: 5 of 5 stars Really enjoyed this re-read. The audiobooks are very entertaining! I surprisingly remembered quite a bit but the story still kept my interest. I'm looking forward to the next one! View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Agents of Light and Darkness (Nightside #2)

Image
Agents of Light and Darkness by Simon R. Green My rating: 3 of 5 stars Read for February Fantasy Stories More like a 2.5 While I think this world is interesting, I'm not particularly attached to our main character. I did find myself constantly getting pulled out of the story while reading this one and this particular installment wasn't as interesting as the first for me. There were definitely some memorable scenes for me but I'm not sure if I will be continuing with this series with how my experience has been. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Broken Hearts (Fear Street Super Chiller #4)

Image
Broken Hearts by R.L. Stine My rating: 4 of 5 stars Read for #FlashbackFebruaryReads I really enjoyed this one. It was a very fast read and I'm sure I read this one growing up, but I didn't remember anything. Glad to have this one in my collection. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Something from the Nightside (Nightside #1)

Image
Something from the Nightside by Simon R. Green My rating: 3 of 5 stars Read for February Fantasy Stories This was just okay for me. I liked it, but I didn't get much of a mysterious feeling from the story. I'm hoping the next installment will provide that and will be much more entertaining for me. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on City of Villains (City of Villains #1)

Image
City of Villains by Estelle Laure My rating: 3 of 5 stars This story probably would've worked better for me if the characters weren't Disney Villains. From the start there was a bit of guessing as to who each character we met was. Some were very obvious, but others were not to me. I had a bit of a hard time getting into this when reading physically, so I switched to audio, which was a much better experience for me. The mystery aspect was interesting but there was too much teen drama for me. Mary definitely got on my nerves a time or two. I think that now all the setup is done and the action has started, the next installment should move along nicely. I will be trying the next installment, which hopefully will work better for me, and I'm looking forward to seeing where everything goes from here. View all my reviews
