How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell My rating: 3 of 5 stars While I found this a quick and enjoyable read, it wasn't as good as I had expected it was going to be. The narration was entertaining but the story itself was just ok. I'll be continuing with the series but will definitely need to adjust my expectations going forward and think about the books as completely separate from the movies. View all my reviews

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 I found this to be enjoyable and entertaining however I would say that while I was very invested toward the end of the book, my investment was in and out for the first 75% of the story. I did choose to listen to this one by audiobook as I had done with the previous two installments but there has been a change in narrator. Not sure if that change was also a reason for my trouble in really getting invested in this story? I would definitely consider reading this one again in the future. I think that on re-read I would choose to read a physical or digital copy and see if my enjoyment increased with that version. There are so many different audio versions available now that I would also be open to seeing if a different narration would work better for me. All in all, I did enjoy this installment and I am interested to see where this story goes in the next installments. View ...

Can't Stop Cursing You, Vol. 4 by Natsuko Uruma My rating: 4 of 5 stars This series had so much potential to have more volumes, it's sad that it ended so quickly. I really enjoyed this series overall, however I will say that the very end of this volume wasn't satisfying for me. Will definitely be looking into more of this mangaka's work in the future. The Escape Game by Marissa Meyer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Really enjoyed this one! The game show aspect, the figuring out of the puzzles, and the mystery all really worked for me. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was going to be the first in a series when I picked it up, which means I have to wait a while to continue with this story.
