Books: My Thoughts on Fetch (Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights 2)

Image
Fetch by Scott Cawthon My rating: 3 of 5 stars Overall, I enjoyed this set of stories more than the first book. These stories felt more mysterious for me and gave the kids more of an opportunity to try to figure things out. The stories were entertaining and I think kids of the target age would really enjoy them. View all my reviews

Disis19 Diaries: August 20-26 | 2023 - Orilium Autumn Equinox Wrap Up 4 and Shopping for a Cause

Image
Welcome to my August reading and crafting vlog! I've decided to rename these Disis19 Diaries, because that's what these videos really are - diary entries as opposed to following me around while I do things. This vlog will encompass my thoughts on what I read for the Orilium Magical Readathon Autumn Equinox. I will also share with you some things I picked up from fundraisers for Maui. ~Mentions~ Colorless Vol 1 by Kent Run Away With Me, Girl Vol 1 by Battan Persona 4 Vols 3 & 4 by Shuji Sogabe/Atlus Fullmetal Alchemist Vols 7-9 by Hiromu Arakawa Out of the Earth (Out of the Earth 1) by Jake Bible Crazy Shirts Eden in Love Wyland Foundation Magical Readathon Autumn Equinox 2023 Announcement from Book Roast Seasonathon Academy Announcement | Fall 2023 2nd Semester Announcement from Amy at AStar Reads

Books: My Thoughts on Into the Pit (Five Nights at Freddy's Fazbear Frights 1)

Image
Into the Pit by Scott Cawthon My rating: 3 of 5 stars Entertaining, but doesn't have the feel of the novel series for me. Not all the stories take place at Freddy Fazbear's but they do all have animatronic characters involved. I think this would be a great read for the intended age though and definitely would give a creepy vibe. As an adult reading these though, these kids are very disrespectful to their parents/grandparents and that really irritated me. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Cherish (Crave 6)

Image
Cherish by Tracy Wolff My rating: 4 of 5 stars I've read and enjoyed most of this series this year and I am sorry that it's over, but the end to this series was missing a few things for me. Still an enjoyable and entertaining read but I wish we had just a little bit more with these characters. Maybe the spin off series will give me a few glimpses of where these characters are in the future. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Out of the Earth (Out of the Earth 1)

Image
Out of the Earth by Jake Bible My rating: 3 of 5 stars This was entertaining, but there is a story line that I do not enjoy in the jumble. With everything that happens in this book, the story line that I'm not enjoying doesn't really seem to add anything to what's going on for me. I will be checking out the next installment to see how this story plays out, but I'm hoping the things that bothered me about this one won't amplify as we go forward. I did listen to the audiobook. The narrator was ok. He made it entertaining enough and kept me interested in what was going on. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Triptych (Will Trent 1)

Image
Triptych by Karin Slaughter My rating: 3 of 5 stars If I hadn't watched the TV show before reading this installment, I probably wouldn't continue with this series. There was a lot that happened in this one and it is understandable why the TV show does start here. Not sure if the author's writing is for me but I will continue to the next one to find out. I listened to the audiobook and I don't think I'm jiving with the narrator. The narration isn't bad but it didn't add to my experience with this story. Hopefully my experience with the next installment will be much better. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on The Dead Lifeguard (Fear Street Super Chiller 6)

Image
The Dead Lifeguard by R.L. Stine My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 Really fast read. Kept my interest with the way the chapters were situated. The end kind of felt abrupt, but made sense. I don't think I read this one before, but I do think I would've enjoyed this one a lot more if I had read it when I was a teen. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Fence: Disarmed (Fence Novels 2)

Image
Disarmed by Sarah Rees Brennan My rating: 4 of 5 stars I'm glad this ended the way I was hoping. There was almost too much drama for me though. The way that the chapters were situated really helped me get through this book because we were constantly changing perspectives. I also enjoyed that there was some fencing in this one, which I felt was missing from the first book. I'm really looking forward to reading the comics! View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on The Man with the Glass Eye (Criminal Intentions Season 1, Episode 3)

Image
The Man with the Glass Eye by Cole McCade My rating: 4 of 5 stars Really enjoyed this one, especially the action scenes towards the end. The author has carried over characters from the previous case here, which I thought was interesting. I'm definitely enjoying reading the physical copy more than listening to the audiobook as I don't enjoy how Malcolm and Seong-Jae are narrated. Looking forward to the next one! View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Junk Shop Blues (Criminal Intentions Season 1, Episode 2)

Image
Junk Shop Blues by Cole McCade My rating: 4 of 5 stars Another great installment. This one didn't pack the same punch for me as the first installment, but I still enjoyed seeing our characters work the case. This series definitely feels like a TV show when I'm reading/listening to it. Looking forward to the next episode! View all my reviews
