Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead My rating: 3 of 5 stars Over 11 years have passed since I read this book the first time. On re-read, I still enjoyed this book and my rating has not changed. Definitely remembered some things, but there were a lot of things I didn't remember. It was entertaining and I'm looking forward to continuing to the next installment. View all my reviews

Slashing Through the Snow by Jacqueline Frost My rating: 3 of 5 stars More like a 2.5 For me, this was my least favorite of the 3 installments. Some things were too predictable and for some reason our main character seemed very childish, almost like she was throwing a tantrum every time she was told to stop snooping. I did listen to the audiobook as I had the previous installments, but I don't remember her being as irritating in those. Not sure if it was just the narration or if the character comes across the same in the text, but it definitely hindered my enjoyment of this installment. I was so looking forward to this installment, especially since there was such a long break between the second and third book, but unfortunately this one was just ok for me. View all my reviews

My thoughts on the first book in the Mrs. Claus Mystery Series by Liz Ireland. Parasyte, Volume 8 by Hitoshi Iwaaki My rating: 3 of 5 stars I'm a little disappointed at how this story ended. The last 2 volumes definitely didn't give me the same enjoyment I had with the previous installments. To me, this ending focused a lot more on what I feel are the mangaka's feelings on overpopulation and the damage humans are doing to the planet. I was also not convinced by the romantic relationship in this story. All in all, I'm glad I read this series and was surprised to have enjoyed it as much as I did earlier in the series, but the story ended on a less enjoyable note than I would've liked. It's time for round 9 of Rotating Decks, my TBR Game where I have UNO cards help me pick prompts to build my monthly TBR. December will be full of Christmas cozies and a few other reads including my #Book1CoziesClub and Monochrome Manga Club selections.
