This series ended up not being what I thought it was going to be and that is what lead to my disappointment. This is a series about relationships, which is not my usual cup of tea. That being said, it was an entertaining read.

We follow so many characters throughout this story that it felt more like we were having singular episodes with them instead of the series being a continuous story. A character I thought was going to be focused on more, ended up not being as important to the story as I thought they were going to be. Certain things were presented in a way that was confusing to me and I don't know if it was presented that way in order to keep the reader surprised with the reveal or if it was just the way I interpreted things.

Even though I was disappointed this time around, I do want to re-try this series sometime in the future. I think going into this series thinking the focus was going to be on other things really affected my enjoyment because I was constantly looking and waiting for a different focus in the story. Now that I know where the focus of this story lies, I can go into it with a different mindset and hopefully enjoy it more at a later date.

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to be able to catch local showings of the live action movies Shingeki no Kyojin ( Attack on Titan) Part 1 and Part 2 . Having watched and loved the anime, we thought it would be great to see the characters come to life. I was pre-warned by friends however, to not have high expectations going into it. Part 1 was pretty similar to the anime, though there were changes that confused me. Not having read the manga, I'm not sure if those changes were in the manga but I kept an open mind. At the end of Part 1, I was pretty satisfied with how the movie was done. The visual gore was a little over the top for me, but I expected it going in, seeing as I knew what to expect from the story. The action scenes were great, I thought The Colossal was amazing and the casting for Hange was spot on, in my opinion. I think that her performance was probably my favorite of both movies. Books: My Thoughts on The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia #7)

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis My rating: 3 of 5 stars I can finally say that I've read this series. I do wish that I read it when I was younger as this series wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be for me, reading it as an adult. The twist at the end of this book didn't surprise me too much and I was disappointed to find out about how another character had grown up. I was happy to see past characters towards the end of this book, but that didn't push this book from a like to a love for me. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will always be my favorite of this series, but I was happy to find The Horse and His Boy, as it is a second favorite of this series.
