More like a 2.5 - Read for #Book1CoziesClub and #MarchMysteryMadness

I have not read the author's Flower Shop Mysteries so this was my first experience with her writing. While this was an entertaining story, there were many things that bothered me including several of the things our amateur sleuth did in the course of her investigation. The mystery itself was very predictable and I knew who the culprit was pretty early.

I listened to this entirely on audiobook and it was very easy to listen to. At this point, I'm not sure if I will read the next one when it is released, though I may still try the Flower Shop Mystery series. I'm glad that this was a selection for my book club as I think there will be some interesting things to discuss.

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to be able to catch local showings of the live action movies Shingeki no Kyojin ( Attack on Titan) Part 1 and Part 2 . Having watched and loved the anime, we thought it would be great to see the characters come to life. I was pre-warned by friends however, to not have high expectations going into it. Part 1 was pretty similar to the anime, though there were changes that confused me. Not having read the manga, I'm not sure if those changes were in the manga but I kept an open mind. At the end of Part 1, I was pretty satisfied with how the movie was done. The visual gore was a little over the top for me, but I expected it going in, seeing as I knew what to expect from the story. The action scenes were great, I thought The Colossal was amazing and the casting for Hange was spot on, in my opinion. I think that her performance was probably my favorite of both movies. Books: My Thoughts on The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia #7)

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis My rating: 3 of 5 stars I can finally say that I've read this series. I do wish that I read it when I was younger as this series wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be for me, reading it as an adult. The twist at the end of this book didn't surprise me too much and I was disappointed to find out about how another character had grown up. I was happy to see past characters towards the end of this book, but that didn't push this book from a like to a love for me. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will always be my favorite of this series, but I was happy to find The Horse and His Boy, as it is a second favorite of this series. I think overall, I'd give this series three stars and would still recommend people read it if they haven't. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Outtakes from the Grave (Night Huntress #7.5)

Outtakes from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost My rating: 4 of 5 stars I enjoyed reconnecting with these characters. It's been a while since I read volume 7 so things aren't as fresh in my memory as to the goings on in each installment. As such, there were times I was a little lost in regards to timelines, but I still enjoyed these little snippets. It's interesting to hear why these scenes were cut from the original publications and it would've been nice to have these extras as I was reading the series. Each scene is cut into a separate chapter and starts with a preface from the author stating which installment the scene is from and why the scene was not in the final publication. I found the narrator, Tavia Gilbert, when I started this series and she has become one of my favorite narrators. Each character has their own unique voice and she really does a great presentation.
