Books: My Thoughts on The Julius House (Aurora Teagarden 4)

This installment was just ok for me. In looking back, it's been almost 10 years since I read an installment in this series and I gave all previous installments 3 stars. I'm pretty sure I've seen the Hallmark adaptation of this one and enjoyed it but I just wasn't invested in this book. Truthfully, Roe got on my nerves a bit. Maybe it was the way she was narrated?

All in all it was enjoyable enough for me to listen to the end. I'm not sure how I feel about the series on a whole, but I think I'll give it one more installment before I decide.

Books: My Thoughts on Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris My rating: 4 of 5 stars Probably more like a 3.5, read for #MarchMysteryMadness This was a pretty fast read, though fairly predictable. I think if you are interested in this one, it's best to go in blind. Even reading the synopsis on the front cover puts too many pieces together for you, I feel. That being said, the format is interesting as you go back and forth between past and present, so you do get the full picture of what is going on as you read. Grace was a bit too naïve for me at times and I did actually laugh out loud at some of her actions that weren't well thought through. I really enjoyed how this book wrapped up and since one of the blurbs on the back of the book references Gone Girl, I will tell you that I enjoyed this book a lot more than Gone Girl. I hesitate to say anymore as I will end up giving things away. I'll wrap this up by saying that I am interested to see what other stories this author brings us...

Books: My Thoughts on The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia #7)

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis My rating: 3 of 5 stars I can finally say that I've read this series. I do wish that I read it when I was younger as this series wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be for me, reading it as an adult. The twist at the end of this book didn't surprise me too much and I was disappointed to find out about how another character had grown up. I was happy to see past characters towards the end of this book, but that didn't push this book from a like to a love for me. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will always be my favorite of this series, but I was happy to find The Horse and His Boy, as it is a second favorite of this series. I think overall, I'd give this series three stars and would still recommend people read it if they haven't. View all my reviews
