Light Novels: Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho (Light Novel), Vol. 1

Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho (Light Novel), Vol. 1 by Motoo Nakanishi My rating: 4 of 5 stars I don't usually enjoy historical settings anymore, but I enjoyed this one. I thought the narrator's presentation of the story was entertaining as well. I definitely picked up pretty early in the story the trajectory it would go so nothing really surprised me about it, though there was one element to the destination that I would've preferred was different. I will be continuing with this series and look forward to following Jinta on his journey. View all my reviews

Light Novels: My Thoughts on I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

Image
I Want to Eat Your Pancreas by Yoru Sumino My rating: 4 of 5 stars This one definitely made me shed a tear or two, which is not something that happens often for me with books. I ended up enjoying this story more than I thought I would. Though it is sad, there is lightness to it and I enjoyed spending time with the characters. I have a few by this author on my shelves, and I'm looking forward to experiencing those stories as well. View all my reviews

Light Novels: My Thoughts on SCP Foundation: Iris Through the Looking-Glass (SCP Foundation 1)

SCP Foundation: Iris Through the Looking-Glass by Akira My rating: 4 of 5 stars I thought this was very entertaining. I listened to the audiobook and while I enjoyed the experience and thought the narrator did a good job, I wish I had a physical copy to combo read with it. Some details are redacted within the story and the way it's handled in the audio irritated me just a little over time. They do advise you at the beginning of the audiobook that this would happen so it wasn't unexpected, but I suppose it bothered me more to hear that sound than it would've to see how it would've been handled in the physical book. I enjoyed the experiences with the different objects and one of the earlier investigations just happened to connect to a subject I was reading about in another book at the same time. Interesting how those things go, but overall I thought this was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment. ...

Books: My Thoughts on Wonderland

Image
Wonderland by Jennifer Hillier My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was an entertaining read. I don't normally like it when a story is told from so many POVs but this one worked for me. Every layer that was uncovered made the story more interesting and there was definitely a nice build up of momentum towards the end. Looks like there will be another book in this series soon, so I'm looking forward to reading that. View all my reviews

Books: My Thoughts on Murder Road

Image
Murder Road by Simone St. James My rating: 4 of 5 stars I was definitely intrigued after the first chapter however, I don't think this one really pulled me in until about the last third of the book. I found the story enjoyable and though I didn't expect there to be a certain element to the story, I thought that element elevated the outcome of the story for me. I am looking forward to reading more of this author's work in the future. View all my reviews
