The Bone Jar by S.W. Kane My rating: 3 of 5 stars Unfortunately, this was just an ok read for me. Nothing really grabbed me in regards to this case, I'm not invested in our detective, and I felt like there were too many things going on. There are a lot of characters involved in this story, not to mention the several things that are unraveled as you go through the investigation and are introduced to things outside of the investigation. While it was entertaining enough for me to read to completion, I do not believe I will be continuing with this series. View all my reviews

Escape from Asylum by Madeleine Roux My rating: 4 of 5 stars More like a 3.5 It's been a while since I read the Asylum Trilogy, but I did enjoy this reading it as a stand alone installment. I listened to most of it by audiobook however I finished the last portion physically and I have to say that the pictures included in the book definitely enhance the reading experience. They gave me a little bit of an edge to the story that I had been lacking just listening to the narration. I do intend on reading the novellas in the future and will definitely keep this in mind when I pick that up. View all my reviews

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this and was very entertained. I did think it was rather long, but it kept my interest throughout. Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane My rating: 3 of 5 stars More like a 2.5 I suppose this just wasn't what I thought it was going to be going into it. I've been curious about the movie adaptation for a while, so I'm glad I did finally read this book. It just ended up being not something I really enjoyed. View all my reviews

Asylum Hotel by Juliet Blackwell My rating: 4 of 5 stars So glad to read another story by this author. I really enjoy her Witchcraft Mystery series and I enjoyed this story as well. The story has more of a mysterious feeling than creepy feeling. I enjoyed the journey our main character had searching and piecing together information.
