An interesting story of love and loss and how it affects these characters in a place that is being ravaged by a plague.

This was my first book by this author. When I started, the story was very slow to build for me. I was almost uninterested in Nedra and Grey. It took me more than a quarter of the book to finally be swayed by their story and what was happening in the world.By the halfway point, I was hooked and needed to find out not only what would happen with these two, but what was going on in their world in general.

So many twists that I didn't see coming towards the end, and an ending that leaves you wondering what happens next. I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment. Thank you to the Penguin Random House First To Read Program for giving me the opportunity to read this as an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for my honest review.

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to be able to catch local showings of the live action movies Shingeki no Kyojin ( Attack on Titan) Part 1 and Part 2 . Having watched and loved the anime, we thought it would be great to see the characters come to life. I was pre-warned by friends however, to not have high expectations going into it. Part 1 was pretty similar to the anime, though there were changes that confused me. Not having read the manga, I'm not sure if those changes were in the manga but I kept an open mind. At the end of Part 1, I was pretty satisfied with how the movie was done. The visual gore was a little over the top for me, but I expected it going in, seeing as I knew what to expect from the story. The action scenes were great, I thought The Colossal was amazing and the casting for Hange was spot on, in my opinion. I think that her performance was probably my favorite of both movies. Books: My Thoughts on The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia #7)

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis My rating: 3 of 5 stars I can finally say that I've read this series. I do wish that I read it when I was younger as this series wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be for me, reading it as an adult. The twist at the end of this book didn't surprise me too much and I was disappointed to find out about how another character had grown up. I was happy to see past characters towards the end of this book, but that didn't push this book from a like to a love for me. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will always be my favorite of this series, but I was happy to find The Horse and His Boy, as it is a second favorite of this series. I think overall, I'd give this series three stars and would still recommend people read it if they haven't. View all my reviews
