Books: What Have I Been Reading? Manga, Manga, and more Manga

I made the mistake of taking my daughter to the library with me last month and she borrowed a ton of manga to read. Of course all the manga she borrowed sounded interesting to me, so I wanted to read them as well before returning it....Big Mistake! I've pretty much only read manga for the last month or so, and still have a stack to go. I don't get the opportunity to read as much as she does so the stack just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I had to give her a limit the last time we visited just so that I could catch up! Below are the mangas I've read recently:


The series above are new to us for the most part, with the exceptions of Kingdom Hearts and Fairy Tail. Missing was interesting, though after find out that novels were published on the story, I'm interested to read those as well. Can't seem to find them yet though. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Yozakura Quartet were good and I will continue those series. I'm actually watching the Fairy Tail anime, so the manga is a quick read for me as I've already watched the episodes being covered where I am in the manga.

 Moon Boy was my favorite in this batch. I believe this is called a manhwa and not a manga because it's from Korea. As you may know, I do enjoy Korean Dramas and though this is not my first manhwa (I've also read a few volumes of Goong), I did enjoy this a lot. The story of Earth Rabbits and Foxes kept my interest and I will be looking for the next volume of this one on the next visit to the library.

Movies: Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) Live Action Movie Parts 1 & 2

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to be able to catch local showings of the live action movies Shingeki no Kyojin ( Attack on Titan) Part 1 and Part 2 . Having watched and loved the anime, we thought it would be great to see the characters come to life. I was pre-warned by friends however, to not have high expectations going into it. Part 1 was pretty similar to the anime, though there were changes that confused me. Not having read the manga, I'm not sure if those changes were in the manga but I kept an open mind. At the end of Part 1, I was pretty satisfied with how the movie was done. The visual gore was a little over the top for me, but I expected it going in, seeing as I knew what to expect from the story. The action scenes were great, I thought The Colossal was amazing and the casting for Hange was spot on, in my opinion. I think that her performance was probably my favorite of both movies. Books: My Thoughts on The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia #7)

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis My rating: 3 of 5 stars I can finally say that I've read this series. I do wish that I read it when I was younger as this series wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be for me, reading it as an adult. The twist at the end of this book didn't surprise me too much and I was disappointed to find out about how another character had grown up. I was happy to see past characters towards the end of this book, but that didn't push this book from a like to a love for me. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will always be my favorite of this series, but I was happy to find The Horse and His Boy, as it is a second favorite of this series. I think overall, I'd give this series three stars and would still recommend people read it if they haven't. View all my reviews
