Lipstick - 30 Day Lipstick Challenge: Days 1-10
I have a pretty large collection of lipstick...well, lip products in general. I know that there are certain ones that I reach for all the time, but there are also ones that I rarely reach for. This is why I thought doing this challenge would be a perfect way to help me figure out which ones I don't use often and maybe why I don't use them.
I am not doing the challenge on consecutive days, just so you know, because I just don't wear lipstick every day. I will usually wear it during the work week, but weekends are iffy because unless I have to go somewhere, I don't wear it. Also, in regards to any comments made in terms of wear, I did wear the lip colors between 10 and 15 hours on these days.
Let's get started with Day 1: Ulta Super Shiny Lip Butter in London
This lipstick is very comfortable on the lips. It has a very moisturizing feeling without feeling sticky, but the color is very sheer. I rarely wear this one on it's own and this was one of those rare days.
Day 2: Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in #U250 Cherry Jubilee
I love this color! Unfortunately after a full day of wear, my lips were peeling terribly.
Day 3: LipSense Long Lasting Liquid Lip Color in Kiss for a Cause topped with LipSense Sand Gloss
This one is new to the collection and is a limited edition color. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and my mother is a breast cancer survivor, I thought that it would be appropriate to include this in the lineup for my challenge. The company also contributes a portion from every sale of this shade to Breast Cancer research. I am an Independent Distributor of LipSense, so if you're interested in purchasing one, let me know. If you haven't heard of this product, it's waterproof and transfer proof lip color that lasts up to 18 hours without touch ups. It should be topped with one of their Shea Butter and Vitamin E glosses to seal the color and moisturize the lips. The gloss can be re-applied throughout the day as needed.
Day 4: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in #525 Wine with Everything
I really like this color and am not sure why I don't wear it more often. Great color payoff and comfortable to wear.
Day 5: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in #240 Tower of Mauve
I really like Rimmel's lipsticks. No complaints on this one. Color is not in my usual range, but it's interesting and on trend with the 90's lip look that's coming back.
Day 6: LipSense Long Lasting Lip Color in Plumeria topped with LipSense Sand Gloss
Lovely color, great wear. Stayed in place all day.
Day 7: Bare Minerals 100% Natural Mineral LipColor in Berry Glacé
This line of lipsticks from Bare Minerals was discontinued and this is the only one from the line that I have. This has a very dry formulation, but it still wears comfortably on the lips. Color lasted all day too, without touch up.
Day 8: LipSense Long Lasting Lip Color in Cranberry topped with LipSense Sand Gloss
I love red lipstick and this one lasted all day outdoors without moving.
Day 9: Magical Lips Lipstick with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E (Orange) topped with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss in Aurora.
This lipstick is one of those Mood Changing ones that adjust to the perfect pink on your lips. I used the orange one to give a more peachy pink for the under layer. This lipstick also acts like a stain. The Aurora gloss is pretty but does settle into lines. Not so noticeable from far away though. This shade is almost too bright for my taste. I need to pair the gloss with a darker lipstick underneath.
Day 10: Milani #27 Dulce Caramello topped with Gerard Cosmetics' gloss in Rose Hill
Though the gloss is pretty pigmented, I just like having that extra layer of opaqueness which is why I wore the Milani under it. Also the Dulce Caramello gives a nice golden sheen to the color of Rose Hill.
Well, that's it for the first 10 days. Looks like only 1 of the lipsticks caused terrible peeling for me, which is actually surprising. Do you own any of these lipsticks? What are your experiences with them? Any favorites on the list? I look forward to hearing from you. Until next time, =)
